Our cat recently got cut on his leg; being in an area without access to a vet, we were a bit unsure on the severity of the injury or what a naturally healing cut would look like over time (and how to identify the start of any infection). I couldn’t find a good clear set of photos online. Hopefully this can alleviate some concern or save a trip to the vet.
So not much here, just a few close-up photos taken over the healing process to aid others. We applied Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Feline Wound & Skin Care, borrowed from a friend, about 3 to 5 times per day. We did monitor the cat as much as possible to prevent him from licking the cut - most commonly after we sprayed the wound. The cat’s behavior was unchanged and he largely did not seem to be concerned with the cut.
Sorry for a few blurry photos. Cats do not like being held, sprayed with water, and their photo taken.
